The Last Dance

It was always going to be a good time over a long time, 2026 will be the final Hopkins Creek.

Ten years of music and mateship. Ten years of dancing, hugs, revelry, and rowdiness. Unbridled flair and a thousand ‘fuck yeah’s’. Weddings, wild weather, whirling & twirling. Broken tents, broken stages, unbroken spirit. New friends, new loves, endless laughs. Memories & moments that we will cherish forever.

What began as a birthday party beside a creek grew into something we could never have imagined. What a wild, all-encompassing ride it has been. For the past decade, Hopkins Creek has been an enormous part of our lives, and it’s been our greatest privilege to share this journey with every dancer, dreamer, conjurer and rogue who gave their energy towards making Hopkins what it is.

But life is a cycle and we feel like now is the right time to bring this chapter to an end.

The landscape for independent music festivals has changed. The cost of producing Hopkins Creek has risen enormously, while the cost of living has made attending events harder for many people. This event has never been about making profits, and we have remained fiercely independent since day one. This November is about celebrating everything we have created with the beautiful people who helped us create it.

This has not been an easy decision. Hopkins has shaped our lives and letting it go is letting go a part of ourselves. We know this place means something deeply personal to many of you too. It has been where friendships began, relationships formed, ideas took shape and people found somewhere they felt at home. We know its absence will be felt well beyond our own little crew.

As for what comes after, we honestly do not know. This will be the final Hopkins Creek as we know it, but ten years of this festival has taught us not to make promises about what may grow from the ashes. The door is not locked, but for now, the time has come to hang up the boots, pull out the star pickets and call last drinks in the Bait Shop for the final time.
